Yeah, I am aware it isn't powerful by current standards, and I was surprised that Google decided to go with the same old chip as the 4k Max. But that coupled with the extra RAM gets the job done. It runs fast and smooth and I have streamed 4k 90Mbit/s Dolby Vison/Atmos Blu-ray remux files on it without issue.

I have had Chinese boxes in the past when playing back my own media but wanted to have the ease of a stock Android 14 box that will be well supported and less likely to have annoying bugs that never get fixed. I have had it since it released in October, and it has had one update so far. The slight niggles I have encountered at times I couldn't rule out Stremio as being the cause and not the box.

If it wasn't for the Dolby Vision MKV issue with LG, I would have kept on using that to be honest, as the processor in the OLED is good enough for no added cost.

I have compared it to Stremio's Windows app too. My PC is running a 5800X3D with 32GB of RAM and a wired fibre connection. And sure, it is faster to load a video as you'd expect from the massive processing power difference, but not really enough to make the Streamer annoying to use by comparison. I do have a decent AX router about 3m away from the streamer though, so there is no issue with running it wireless (it has an ethernet port on it as well if needed, which is nice to have). I also paid $20 less than the current price - our dollar is getting hammered currently.
